"I do use an 800 number but in a more modern way. I use
Ring Central, which was recommended to me ... It's very
inexpensive, has an answering machine feature, can send
and receive faxes, and can connect to any and all of
your phone lines. It can ring from your house phone,
your cell, or both in sequence or simultaneously. I
think this gives you the perfect solution for clients to
contact you. It's an 800 number, which adds to the
professionalism and credibility of your business, and it
allows you to be reached at any time anywhere, PLUS
people can FAX and be FAXed! That can make it easy to
get contracts to less computer savvy clients and get the
signed copy back quickly. It really does meet all of the
needs of an entertainer.."

"I've used Ring Central for a few months now. I like it
overall; however, I am finding that it is not compatible
with all other types of phone lines. If I am faxing to
someone who uses DSL the fax will not go through. I used
to think that it was just a problem with my old
traditional fax machine but found out differently from
my phone company. It's a great option for me because I
go to a field office a couple days a week and I don't
miss my incoming faxes or the 800 line calls."

"I use Ring Central as the other person answered. I like
you, send and receive a few faxes a month. You can
select your number and decide whether you need local or
1-800. You can even create a customized number if it is
not already used. You are able to pay monthly or pay one
lump sum for the year. I think I paid 95.00 for 500
faxes(pages) monthly and if you go over it is 5.9 cents
a minute. The interface is very nice and you can import
contacts or create them and store them in the product.
It is a SaaS service, so you can go online and view the
results of your fax sent. I like that I get the faxes in
softcopy format so I can store them on my computer. I
also set up my mobile phone, so that when I receive a
fax - I receive an SMS message. I have been very
satisfied with the service."

"I've used ring central for a while, you can have
multiple mailboxes "for management press 1" etc. Also,
anyone can fax to that number and it shows up as a .pdf
in my email. Faxing out is as easy as attaching and
attachemtn to an email as well. My basic service is
about $16/mo after taxes and fees. I've been really
happy with it. It even has nice on hold music for that
extra level of credibility. :) Disclaimer: I am in no
way being compensated by ring central, I just like them
:)"

"We have been using Ring Central for about a month now.
I transfer my business line to the 800 number at night.
When I come in each morning I have voice mails left
along with the caller's phone number. Don't have to
worry about whether I can clearly understand the phone
number or not, works great. I only use it for after
hours and weekends for now. I may switch all calls to it
eventually, will see how it goes. Pricing is very
competitive to other vendors offering same services.
Good reputation not a sham."

"My partner and use an average of just over 1500 toll
free minutes per minutes (on ring central). Note that we
also give out our direct phone numbers and our cell
phone numbers. About half of the inbound minutes that we
receive are directed to those numbers."

"If you need a 1-800 number for your business, but don't
want to pay the crazy rates that your local company will
charge, you need to sign up with Ring Central. Along
with the 800 numbers, they offer a terrific fax to email
service that allows you to send receive faxes directly
on your computer."

for my 800 number, and it has been great."

"I use ring central for an 800 # tied to my existing
local number. I also have an 800 # through them for my
fax. I like the service and the options on how to set
everything up and change to forward to your cell number
or any other number. It's all web based and easy to use.
Plus fast and outstanding customer service."

"I just signed up for Ring Central last week and so far
so good, I am kind of scared now that I read about the
billing situation, but we will see what happens. And I
too love the different ext that they offer."
"I have 8 lines with RingCentral operating over a
Verizon 7mb DSL (they say you need about 100 kbs per
line for bandwidth) and we can not be happier. The
service is awesome and we haven't had a single problem,
aside from the initial set up 8 months ago (which was
really a non issue once I spoke with their tech
support). The system is very flexible and you can
configure it pretty much any way that you want. In a
nutshell, highly recommended. Get in touch with me if
you have questions, but suffice it to say that I am a
big fan. The 8 line system that I have costs about $200
per month including taxes, etc. and I paid $80 per
handset, so I had a $640 investment to get started, but
I had to buy a phone system anyway, so $640 was cheap to
me."

"I use Ring Central as well. I have a separate fax
number, and an extra local number is just $5 more. Calls
get routed to my cell first and if I don't pick up goes
back to voice mail. I find the voice quality Better than
vonage which I had a couple of years ago."

"I also use Ring Central. Very easy to switch my calls
from my office to my cell or from my office to my home
office. All within a click."

"I tried Ring Central for the 30 day free trial. When I
called to cancel they asked me to keep it. When I said
no thanks they offered me a $10.00 gift card to
starbucks and another month free. So I said sure and had
them for a while. I only cancelled because I did not use
the service too much but overall it was great."

"I'm using them only for faxing. I have a phone number
dedicated for my fax and have yet to "port" it over to
them as my dsl comes through that line. I paid the $7.99
for the 1st month and like the service so much that I
just paid for the year to receive the small discount.
Great service."

"I love Ring Central! I use it with my event planning
company and Im going to just add an extension for my VA
business. I too keep mine on DND and I get messages to
my cell phone that includes that msg left so that I can
call the customer back."

"I use Ring Central. I have numbers in three states.
They all ring to my cell phone (if I want them too) ...
Look at Vonage and others... and read the reviews. I did
and chose Ring Central. It gives me unlimited nationwide
and a separate fax. I can add extensions for $5 per
month for my sales people. It keeps all my messages and
faxes online, at my finger tips. There is no contract.
Use it for a month and if you don't like it, drop it ...
